I Promise... to uphold and accomplish the FFA's mission to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
I Promise... to uphold, honor and respect the FFA's motto and code of ethics.
This is my eighth year teaching Agricultural Education. I am originally from Virginia, where I taught for 3 years at Clarke County High School. I then took three years off to start a family. My husband's job brought us to Paulding County, Georgia. We fell in love with it here and made the decision to stay in Georgia permanently.
I absolutely LOVE teaching our youth about agriculture and its importance in our lives today. I always look at this: if you got up this morning, ate breakfast, put some clothes on, and got to school or work, thank a farmer!
I grew up raising and showing a variety of livestock animals. I lived and worked on a dairy farm through college and during my first years of teaching in Virginia. I would go to bed early, then get up to milk cows in the middle of the night, then grab a few more hours of sleep before heading off to teach the next morning.
I graduated from Virginia Tech in 2009 with a B.S. in Agricultural Sciences with a minor in Dairy Science and Agriculture & Applied Economics. In 2010, I graduated with a M.S.Ed in Career & Technical Education with an emphasis in Agriculture Education, also from Virginia Tech.
I am married to my loving husband, John, and we have three sweet babies, Paisley, Hudson, and Waylynn June. I love DIY projects, weight lifting, cooking, sewing/embroidering, and jersey cows!
